Kathy L. Gowans Bio
Kathy is gifted as rolling up her sleeves and becoming a true partner in finding solutions to complex business issues to increase effectiveness and productivity in the lives of her clients. She is genuine, experienced and practical as she works collaboratively to make a difference.
Kathy has 20+ years working as a frontline manager and organization leader in the high-tech industry. In those roles, Kathy developed a talent to lead others and, in doing so, found she loved to mentor and coach others to develop the systems, strategies, structures and skills that would create a healthy and productive work environment.
Since 1998, Kathy has owned her own organization development consulting firm and has focused her efforts on improving business processes and people skills to align vision, leverage talents and accomplish results. Kathy’s consulting experience spans a broad range of industries including investment & financial services, software/hardware development, publishing, manufacturing, education, customer service, and in government agencies. Some clients include eBay, General Mills, Legg Mason, Philips Semiconductors, Novell, Channing Hall Charter School, Primedia Publishing, and Utah Division of Oil, Gas & Mining.
Kathy’s belief that healthy relationships are foundational to a happy and productive life motivates Kathy’s volunteer efforts as well. She has implemented Influencing Options in the local correctional system working with inmates to improve their communication skills and has spent 15 years leading and implementing an after-school literacy tutoring program.
Kathy’s experience and skills also support the most joyful work in her life, which is centered at home, learning as well as loving and playing with her husband of 40 years, 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
